Review of Tarte the Shape Tape Foundation

Well hello hello hello guys!!!

Before and After

Something I have been super excited for the past week is getting this beauty in the mail! Being in Australia it was only free shipping if spending over $100.00 whereas the foundation was $52.00 so I asked one of my friends if she would like to get one to in the same order, which she was down for as we both love the shape tape concealer. So as soon as she messaged me today saying it was here I was like ISBDHSIWKJDIEJE!!!!!! I NEED IT NOW!

First off all let’s talk about the packaging, I do appreciate that it is thesame as the concealer and because they are in the same ‘family’ if you will haha. When holding the bottle it feels more luxurious as it is a frosted glass and the concealer is plastic.

Okay now onto discussing the shades. When I ordered this foundation I didn’t look at the shade range due to being on the fair end so not needing to look at the darker shades. Recently I saw everyone on the internet talking about how small the range is. And that for sure IS TRUE!!! There is not enough colours for every skin tone especially people of colour, which I believe is not fair to the women and men outtheir that were super excited for the launch to not be able to order it. Tarte has confirmed that more shades will be released so I’m hoping for everyone out there that was unable to get their shade first launch that you are able to the second. Even though Tarte should of came out with a full range to begin with.

Tarte claims the foundation ‘ Provides the same full coverage as its concealing predecessor – it smooths over pores & imperfections with rich, airbrushed full coverage that dries to a flawless matte finish using a unique, concealer-inspired wand. The formula absorbs oil & shine while leaving skin creaseless, hydrated, free of flakiness or cakiness & helping to improve skin health with every application.’

And with that it does!!!! I’m obsessed. I have problems with foundations not sticking to my nose. I’ve had the foundation on now for roughly 3 hours and it hasn’t budged and I’m so happy with it and will defiantly be ordering other shades for when I have fake tan on. One thing I’m not overly impressed with is the size of the applicator. There is minimal difference between the foundation and concealer applicator as you can see below. I believe the applicator should be much bigger for the foundation as I felt like I had to put in back into the bottle way to many times just to cover my face.

The foundation shade I have on is ‘fair sand’ and the concealer I use is ‘Fair’. and i applied the foundation with a beauty blender.

Thanks everyone for reading! I did want to let everyone know that I now have an instagram specifically for this blog and beauty related posts so if you’re interested in checking it out, my username is ‘eobeautyblog’. All the products I used to achieve this look will be listed there!
